Deputy FM to visit New Zealand
Deputy-FM for Asia and Oceania Affairs Ebrahim Rahipmpour started his regional Asian-Pacific tour from Kazakhstan, where he attended the 15th prime ministers meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. He then departed for the Philippines in order to discuss issues of mutual interests with Philippines’ officials.
Rahimpour left Manila for Canberra in Australia Saturday afternoon and now he will fly to Wellington in New Zealand on Tuesday.
In his two-day visit to New Zealand which is the last part of his regional tour, Rahimpour will consult with senior officials concerning development of bilateral cooperation.
On this trip, fifth New Zealand-Iran Political and Economic Cooperation Commission (PECC) will be held at the level of deputy foreign ministers and the two sides will discuss the development of economic relations between Iran and New Zealand.
They will also touch upon international issues and events related to the developments in the Middle East, Central Asia and Asia-Pacific, as well as bolstering parliamentary cooperation.
Rahimpour will meet Foreign Minister Murray McCully and ministers of Commerce and Industry Office (agriculture and fisheries), who are two key ministers in the economic relations between the two countries.
